First published Sunday 17 December 2006 :: Colour version

• To repeat a slightly threadbare Christian analogy: this is the mustard seed from which Grace and Caffeine grew.  The idea for this strip occurred to me just minutes before putting the YBC notice sheet in the photocopier on Sunday 17 December 2006, and I scribbled it down in pencil in a bit of empty space, next door to one of those announcements that our next celebration of the Lord's Supper was going to be rearranged from its usual time of month to a different one for some arcane reason... and it all went from there.
• I subsequently re-drew the episode in ink, to improve the picture quality, but although what you see here is not the original strip, it is in its essentials the same thing.
